Known as a specialist in the field of school design, his independent works in Savannah include the Ellis School (1922), Florence Street School (1929) and the Savannah High School (1935). He also collaborated with a group of local architects in planning other schools. Mr. Sugden maintained an office at #125 East 49th Street during his latter years of practice.
