Began to write prose and poetry before World War I. Wrote criticism (on Z. Gippius and other Symbolists). Journalist with Caucasian newspapers, 1906-1919. After the October Revolution, became a conformist Soviet writer.
Wrote a novel on the Ulianov family and published research on Lenin’s parentage in the magazine NovyiMir. Collected works, 6 volumes, published in Moscow, 1956-1958.
