Timireva, Anna was born in 1893 in Kislovodsk.
Studied painting. Educated at a Petersburg secondary school in 1911. Studied painting.
Moved with her parents in 1906 to Petersburg. Married a naval officer, Timirev, 1911-1918. During World War I, lived in the Baltic ports, and became acquainted with Admiral Kolchak.
During the Civil War, met Kolchak again in Siberia, and became his constant companion. Insisted on being arrested with him in January 1920. Released in October 1920.
Almost continuously from 1921 until Stalin’s death in March 1953, an inmate of various Gulag camps. Released from exile in 1954. Rehabilitated in 1960.
Wrote interesting memoirs on her childhood in the family of the musicologist and conductor Safonov (her father) and on her life with Admiral Kolchak.
