Treasurer Northampton (Massachusetts) Street Railway Company, 1866-1867. Business agent at Constantinopole of the mission of American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions, 1867-1872. Edited publications in Turkish language of that mission, 1872-1899.
Ordained to ministry by council of Lamoille Company (Vermont) Association, 1880.
Resigned commission as missionary of America Board, 1901. In general literature and editorial work, 1901-1904.
