Assistant to Lesley in 2d Geological Survey of Pennsylvania, wrote report on Aughwick Valley and East Broad Top Coal-Basin in Report F, 1878.
Commissioned to survey important oil counties (McKean, Elk, Cameron, Forest) of Pennsylvania, 1876-1878. Placed in charge of survey anthracite field, 1880-1886.
