In partnership with Julius Franke from 1895 until the time of his death in the firm of Maynicke & Franke. Prior to the turn of the century he was identified with the design of several business structures in Manhattan, including the New York Commercial Building at Broadway and Waverly Place, c.1896, and the Germania Bank Building on the Bowery at Spring Street, 1898. Among later works of the firm was the Fifth Avenue Office Building, 1909; the first Stern Bros. Department Store, 1910; Hotel Almanac, erected at Broadway and 71st Street, and the Art Museum in Heckscher Park, Huntington, N. Y.
