Faller obtained a BA in Art and Education from Hunter College in New York City in 1971 and attended the Visual Studies Workshop in Rochester, New York, completing an MFA in Photography through the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1979.
She was employed as a photography instructor at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, where she has been teaching since 1974. Previously, she was a photography lecturer in New York City at Hunter College (1971-74) and Marymount Manhattan College (1973-74).
She served on the Photographic Advisory Committee of the Everson Museum of Art in Syracuse, New York (1976-79). She also received a Photographer's Fellowship from CAPS, New York (1977), and a Photographer's Grant from Light Work, Visual Studies Inc., in Syracuse, New York (1976). Each series of pictures has its own structure and limitations and utilizes whatever photographic process is necessary to best investigate and explicate the original idea.
He was affiliated with SPE since 1974 and with the Photographic Historical Society of New York since 1972.
