She was often cast as conniving, plotting characters. Yang became an actress in 1984 after previously working as a bank employee. Her most well known roles included the 1986 film, Neighbours, and Samsui Women.
She was diagnosed with uterine cancer during the late 2000s, but continued to act sporadically.
Her last role was in the second season of Perfect Cut, in which she portrayed a wealthy, lonely woman who was dying from Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. Her age was unknown.
