Career
He made his professional debut in the Soviet Top League in 1988 for Football Club Torpedo Moscow. He retired relatively young after he was unable to fully recover from a serious injury he suffered in a Russian Cup 1993-1994 game against Football Club Viktor-Avangard Kolomna. The injury was inflicted by Sergei Bodak (Bodak was originally banned from football for life for that foul, but the ban was lifted after one year).
He was murdered on January 11, 2003, his body was found with multiple stab wounds.
As of 2009, his murder is unsolved. He was working as player agent at the time, it was speculated that his murder was linked to a contract dispute with one of his clients.
