He made his WEC debut against Muhsin Corbbrey on December 19, 2009 at WEC 45. Micklewright was then expected to face Alex Karalexis at WEC 48 on April 24, 2010. However, Micklewright was forced out of the bout due to injury and Karalexis instead faced Anthony Pettis.
Micklewright faced longtime Mobile Marketing Association fighter Baronet Palaszewski at WEC 50 on August 18, 2010.
He lost the fight via second round KO. In his last fight with the WEC, Micklewright faced Dustin Poirier at WEC 52 on November 11, 2010. He lost the bout via first round TKO, and was then cut from the roster following WEC"s merger with the UFC. Post-WEC career
Following his WEC release, Micklewright faced Jason Chambers at Extreme Challenge 182 on April 30, 2011.
