Career
Zhang Jilin first represented China in the World Under 10 Championships in Menorca in 1996 and then three times subsequently at the World Junior (U/20) Girls Championships in 2004, 2005 and 2006, finishing top 10 on all three occasions. Zhang currently plays for Shandong chess club in the top division of the China Chess League (CCL), alongside Women"s World Champion Hou Yifan. She also has the titles of FIDE Arbiter (2008) and FIDE Trainer.
In June 2007, she qualified for the Woman Grandmaster (WGM) title.

2002 China Women"s Team Championship in Beihai, China (February 5–17). Score 7.0/9
2006 World Junior Chess Championship (Girls) in Yerevan, Armenia (October 3–16, 2006).

In 2008 Zhang qualified from the Chinese Zonal tournament and reached the final stages of the in Nalchik, Russia, where she was knocked out in the first round by Irina Gaponenko.
