He was the leader from 2003 to 2006 of the Movement for European State Serbia and Montenegro. On 4 January 2013, Žižić died aged 61, in Podgorica.
A member of the Socialist People"s Party of Montenegro, he became Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia on 4 November 2000 shortly after the fall of Slobodan Milošević, when his colleague Momir Bulatović"s cabinet collapsed.
