Wroth was the eldest son of the Review Warwick Reed Wroth, vicar of Saint Philip"s Clerkenwell.

His chief contributions to the literature of his department of the British Museum included a Catalogue of the Greek Coins, which appeared in 1903, and one of the Imperial Byzantine Coins, which appeared three years later. Wroth had made this subject a speciality for many years, and had accumulated a considerable amount of curious and out-of-the-way material. He died on 26 September 1911.
