( North Texas, 1874. In twenty years of fighting, the Com...)
North Texas, 1874. In twenty years of fighting, the Comanches had taken an untold number of white captives. Now that there's a tenuous peace, families are demanding the U.S. Army rescue their loved ones. Problem is, the "captives" have become deeply entrenched in the Comanche way of life. Even if they wanted to return—and most don't—they'd be outcasts in the white world. The impossible task of recovery is given to Guthrie McCabe, one of the few white men ever to successfully negotiate with Chief Iron Hand. McCabe is as ruthless as he is savvy, so the Army dispatches Lt. Jim Gary to watch over the proceedings. The two men are as different as day and night, but when one misstep incurs the wrath of Iron Hand, they'll have to work together to prevent all-out war.

Lieutenant Jim Gary's order were to rescue the white girl without starting an indian war. It was going to be the toughest assignment of his career. A good action novel in the tradition of Will Henry (Yellowhand / Yellowstone Kelly). Well-worth the read.

(There was just one bandit army so it looked like one Texa...)
There was just one bandit army so it looked like one Texas Ranger could handle everything. Only the bandits got their hands on some machine guns. And all hell boiled over when they busted loose and charged across the river with El Jefe leading them. A rattling novel of the Texas Rangers, the men who rode alone and carved their slogan across the west: "One Ranger Can Handle Anything!"

In the 1880s, when the wars with the Comanches and Kiowas had faded into history, Major Jim Gary accomplished the work of preparing former white and Indian captives for return to their own societies. Summoned back to Washington, D.C., he is promoted to the rank of colonel and sent as special envoy for President Roosevelt to Laredo, to investigate raids by Mexican revolutionary bandit El Jefe. Old friends Gary and McCabe are reunited in what promises to be a dramatic clash of arms with one of the fiercest bandits in Mexican history.
