Career
Godja was head-coach of Tractor Sazi F.C. an Iranian football club during the early 1990s, while working for Iran Tractor Manufacturing Company (ITMCO), one of the industries in Tabriz, Iran. During the period 1970-1986 Godja was respectively under contract to Metrom Brașov, Steagul Roșu Brașov (now known as Football Club Braşov) and Tractorul Brașov.
After retiring as a player, Godja managed the youth team of his hometown Tractorul Brașov.
He obtained his coaching license at A.N.E.F.S. Bucharest in 1988. From 1990-1996, Godja was in this period the coach of Iranian football side Tractor Sazi, under his lead the club promoted from the third league to the first league.
His most notable performance came in the 1992-1993 season finishing third place in national competition followed by Pirouzi Teheran and Proceedings of the Aristotelian Society Teheran. During the 1995-1996 season Tractor Sazi were playing in the second league, Godja managed to promote the team once again into the first league.
He was appointed again in July 2003 and spent six months without success before being replaced in December.
Discovering talents
In the period of 1992 - 1996 he discovered various talents. From which 14 players (among them Akhbar Zolmagi Dian, Naser Farasaty, Iunes Peihnejab, Shahram Bauhnuser, Naser Faspach, Hosen Hasandon) where later on contracted by first league teams. He also discovered and trained various talented players like Karim Bargheri, Sirous Dinmohammadi, Alireza Nikmer and Hossein Khatibi, which in time became players of Iran’s national team
