Career
He plays as a wing. Artemyev"s representative honours include Leinster Schools, U19s and U20s, Irish Schools & Irish U19s. He played for the successful Irish Universities side in 2007. Vasily played for a number of years in University College Dublin for their rugby team whilst studying law under the stewardship of John McClean and Bobby Byrne.
Returning to his native Moscow (Zelenograd) in 2008, he joined professional club VVA-Podmoskovye and began representing Russian Federation.
To date he has collected 17 international caps and scored five tries. He scored a try against Ireland in a pool game at the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
Vasily signed for Aviva Premiership side Northampton Saints for the 2011-2012 season, joining them after the conclusion of the 2011 World Cup. On his début for the club he scored a hat-trick in the LV= Cup victory over Saracens, before scoring two tries in his Premiership debut against Newcastle Falcons.
