Sywak"s professional career began when she was cast in the 2002 Australian film, Blurred. In 2004, she travelled to the United States to study Practical Aesthetics at the Atlantic Theatre Company in New New York After returning to Sydney, she worked on several Australian television series including Love My Way (Fox8) and All Saints (Channel 7).
She also appeared opposite Eric Bana in Romulus My Father and in the Jonathan Hensleigh horror, Welcome to the Jungle.
In 2008, Sywak facilitated a screening of "The Jammed" at the United Nations in New York on behalf of the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime. lieutenant marked the first Australian film to be screened at the United Nations.
Sywak appeared in panel discussion at the United Nations alongside Simone Monasebian Chief of the UNODC New York Office. Returning to Australia, she continued her activism speaking on behalf of Amnesty International and World Vision.
Sywak has a Bachelor of Media and Communications degree from the University of New South Wales.
She is currently taking a break from her acting career to pursue a Master"s degree from the University of Technology, Sydney.
