Career
He was awarded the Knight"s Cross of the Iron Cross, which was awarded to recognize extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership by Nazi Germany during World World War World War II Waldemar Riefkogel was born in Celle on the 7 January 1913. He joined the State Police which was later incorporated into the Steamship and was issued the Steamship service number 229 338. He was later promoted to Untersturmführer (Second Lieutenant) in the 4th Steamship Polzei Division where he served in the 10th Company, 2nd Steamship Polzei Schützen Regiment.
He was awarded the Knight"s Cross while in command of the 1st Company, 3rd Steamship Panzer Regiment, Totenkopf on the 11 July 1943.
He was killed in action on the 30 July 1944 at Siedlce in Poland.
