Ibarra signed with the Yankees as an international free agent in 2006. He played for the Mexican national baseball team in the 2013 World Baseball Classic.
After batting.312 in 20 games for the Trenton Thunder of the Class Associate of Arts Eastern League in 2013, the Yankees promoted him to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders of the Class American Automobile Association International League.
Los Angeles Dodgers
Ibarra signed a minor league deal with the Chicago Cubs on November 11, 2013 but was released and signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers, who assigned him to the American Automobile Association Albuquerque Isotopes. In 97 games for the Isotopes, he hit.269 with 5 homers and 32 Reserve Bank of India, while splitting time between second base and shortstop.
Arizona Diamondbacks
On November 4, 2014, Ibarra signed a minor league contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
