Career
Born in London, Malton originally kept an upholsterer"s shop in the Strand. He lectured on perspective at his house in Poland Street, Soho. Malton encountered financial troubles, and moved to Dublin.
There he made a reputation as a lecturer on geometry, and died on 18 February 1801, in his seventy-fifth year.
James Malton was another son.
