Instead of trying to cover a small field thoroughly, this book touches briefly on a considerable variety of past headaches, critical and educational problems. Its aim is to suggest in regards to each the implications of an experimental attitude; to indicate the bearing of recent developments in philosophy and psychology; and to show how all these problems could be dealt with in a comprehensive program of research.
