Linebarger is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Cummins Incorporated. – a role he has held since the beginning of 2012. Other leadership roles he has held at the firm prior to this include: Executive Vice President of Power Generation Business, President of Power Generation Business, Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Vice President of Supply Chain Management.

His total compensation for 2012 was $4.65 million. He ranks Number 14 within Capital Goods.
Linebarger held very few other roles in the industry before resuming his current position at Cummins. He was: Investment Analyst and Investment Manager at Prudential Investment Corporation, and thereafter took up internship at Cummins.
From there he worked up the ladder and joined the company full time in 1993.
