He represented Saint Clements from 1870 to 1874 in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba. Bunn settled in Saint Andrew’son In 1861, he moved to Mapleton.
From 1865 to 1870, Bunn was clerk for the Council of Assiniboia and the Quarterly Court.
In 1868, he was named to the Council. Bunn served as secretary of state in Riel"s provisional government.
In 1871, he was called to the Manitoba Barometer He was named clerk for the first General Quarterly Court for Manitoba in 1871.
His former residence has been declared a provincial heritage site.
