Tengku Sulaiman Shah ibni Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah is a Malaysian corporate figure and a member of the Selangor Royal Family.
Background
He is the son of eighth Sultan, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah and the brother of the current Sultan, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah. Tengku Sulaiman was born on 12 July 1950 in Kuala Lumpur as the fourth child and second son of the Raja Muda (Crown Prince) of Selangor, Tengku Abdul Aziz Shah and his first wife, Raja Saidatul Ihsan Tengku Badar Shah (c 1923–2011).
Career
He was educated in Pakistan and the United Kingdom. His father became the Sultan of Selangor in 1960, becoming Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah. In 1970, Tengku Sulaiman was proclaimed "Tengku Panglima Besar Selangor".
In 1978, he received the title "Tengku Panglima Diraja Selangor", which he continues to hold today.
After he returned to Malaysia in 1970, Tengku Sulaiman began venturing into the construction sector. He and other partners founded SP Setia but relinquished his stake in the company in 1997.
He has held directorships at Talam Corporation, Cosway Corporation and Bina Goodyear. She also received the title "Tengku Puan Panglima Diraja Selangor".
