He was born in 1947 in Rey, south of Tehran, Iran.
His most famous work is the documentary film Ravayat-e Fath (The Chronicles of Victory), filmed during the Iran–Iraq war. He passed Elementary and Secondary Educations in Zanjan, Kerman, and Tehran. In 1965 Aviny entered university, he earned a master"s degree in architecture from Tehran University prior to the Iranian Revolution in 1979.
After victory of the Islamic Revolution he joined the television team of Construction Jihad and started to make films and documentaries.
He was also a prolific writer on Islamic revolutionary themes. He wrote a lot of books, too.
He was martyred by hit of shrapnel pieces of a mine in Fakkeh, north western of Khuzestan Province in April 9, 1993.
