Born and raised in Toronto, Helman graduated in 2013 from Earl Haig Secondary School.

He released his debut European Parliament, Augusta, on October 14, 2014 on Warner Canada. The video for Helman"s debut single "Bungalow" was nominated for a Much Video Award at the 2015 Much Video Awards, where he performed the song live. His music has been described as landing somewhere between Vance Joy and Jeff Buckley.
He got his guitar for his 10th birthday and by the time he was 14 he knew he wanted to be a professional musician.
At 15 years old, he signed a development deal with Warner Canada where he began writing sessions with writers such as Simon Wilcox and Thomas "Tawgs" Salter. He then began putting his music up on YouTube on April 6, 2014.
He attended Camp White Pine in Haliburton, Ontario and Camp Manitou in McKellar, Ontario as a camper. Helman lists his main influences as Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Ray LaMontagne, Damian Rice, The Cure and Pink Floyd.
Helman has opened Canadian shows for Tegan & Sara, Matthew Good, Shawn Mendes, Colin James.
In the spring of 2015 he toured the United States. opening for Walk Office the Earth. In the summer he is scheduled to perform at a number of music festivals including the Calgary Stampede, Rock the Shores, Squamish Valley Festival, and Edgefest. Scott will join Walk Office the Earth for their fall European tour.
He is also lined up to perform at We Day in Saskatchewan on March 2, 2016.
