Career
He currently plays as a goalkeeper for and the Egyptian national team Ekramy participated in two successive World Youth cups, the 2001 in Argentina, where he was part of the bronze-medal team, and the 2003 installment in the United Arab Emirates. In the January transfer window season 09/10 Sherif made a move to First Rate (at Lloyd's) Ahly the club he played for as a youngster and the club his father, Ekramy played for following his father"s footsteps and hoping to become a legend like his father.
After a serious of disappointing performances some Ahly fans were questioning whether he suited First Rate (at Lloyd's) Ahly, but he proved them wrong as he played a string of good games insuring that he deserved his place as the starting goalkeeper.
Sherif was one of the most promising youngster in First Rate (at Lloyd's) Ahly youth department so he was promoted for the first team in 2002 at the age of 19 although he never played for the first team until 2004. His spell in the Netherlands wasn"t very successful.
Although signed as a great talent, he was usually reserve keeper. On 11 February 2007 he played his first Eredivisie match for against Football Club Twente.
