Career
He has umpired 189 career games in the American Federation of Labor-Congress, as at the completion of 2012 American Federation of Labor-Congress season. Meredith officiated in the 2012 and 2013 American Federation of Labor-Congress Grand Finals. In June 2014, Meredith suffered severe headaches whilst umpiring a game between Sydney and Portuguese Adelaide.
He was taken to hospital and diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage or bleeding on his brain.
He spent over a week in hospital, not even changing out of his umpiring clothes for two days, before returning to Melbourne. He is expected to be fully recover and hopes to be umpiring again in the coming month.
On Tuesday 23 September 2014, the American Federation of Labor-Congress Umpiring Department announced that Meredith along with Matt Stevic and Mathew Nicholls would officiate the 2014 Toyota American Federation of Labor-Congress Grand Final.
