Career
He started his career in the late eighties directing video clips, music shows and spots for record companies such as Polygram, Master of Computer Applications, Western Economic Association, USA, Sony Music and Deutsche Grammophon. During this period he worked with renowned artists such as Menudo, Desorden Publico, Julio Iglesias and the New World Symphony. In 1993 he became one the original Music Television Miami team members that created Music Television Latino and was instrumental in the launching of the station in 1993.
While at Music Television, Guardia directed and produced shows as Music Television International with Daisy Fuentes, In Situ, Rock n´Gol and Pink Floyd´s Division Bell Concert (Miami).
Later in 1997, Rómulo Guardia accepted a directorial position with Discovery Networks, where he is credited with setting up and directing the production and post production teams at the Discovery Television Center in Miami

In addition he created and directed high profile branded film spots for clients such as Kodak, International Business Machines Corporation, Jeep, Sony and Master Card. Today, back at home in Venezuela, he is Vice President of Development & New Media at RCTV (Radio Caracas Television, Channel 2) the pioneer and leading terrestrial television network in Venezuela.
Romulo has developed successful shows such as Sonoclips and Chatodromo. In his new position he has Executive-Produced three Movies of the Week, Chupacabra, Louisiana Sayona and Maria Lionza, and has developed successful series such as Archivos del Más Allá.
Louisiana Rumba de Finance, Financial de Mundo (Party ´till the End of the World) is Rómulo"s long format directorial debut.
Recently, Guardia adapted and is producing and directing his new feature film El Señor Presidente, based upon Miguel Ángel Asturias"s masterpiece. Asturias is the Nobel Laureate in Literature for the year 1967. Apart from the creation of RCTVHD Digital films, his division is also taking bold steps for the development of IPtv, video content for cellular phones, VOD and high end commercials for different digital lifestyles initiatives.
