Career
Early years
Challinor began his career in non-league football with Combination and Lancashire Combination sides Middlewich and Witton Albion respectively, before earning a move to the Football League with Everton. The outbreak of the First World War in 1914 denied Challinor the chance to make his professional debut for the Toffees. Brentford
Challinor joined Division Three South side Brentford for the Griffin Park club"s first season of league football in 1920.
He made his professional debut on the opening day of the 1920/21 season in a 1-0 victory over Millwall.
Challinor was released at the end of a disastrous first league season for Brentford, which saw the club forced to apply for re-election. He made 32 appearances and scored two goals for the club
Later league career
Challinor saw out his league career with spells at Halifax Town, Accrington Stanley and New Brighton. Final years
Challinor rounded out his playing days at Mold Town and Llandudno in Wales.
