Career
Torrens was a right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast-medium bowler, he represented Ireland six times in first-class cricket between 1966 and 1982, taking 26 wickets at the excellent average of 15.46. Torrens was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) in the 2009 Birthday Honours in recognition for his services to Irish cricket.
