He was originally from Rochester, New New York He had one great season in 1954 when he made the American League All-Star Team. That year, he went 16–9 with 3.09 European Research Area in over 200 innings pitched.
His 14 complete games that year was 9th in the league.
He would never again have a season like that, although on August 20, 1957, he did no-hit the Washington Senators in the second game of a doubleheader at Comiskey Park. He retired in 1958 after going 40–36 through his whole career.
He was signed by Yankees scout Lou Maguolo.
