Career
Over the course of nine seasons, Romeu amassed first division totals of 184 games and 31 goals, mainly with Christian Science Marítimo (two years) and Vitória de Guimarães (four). In 2002-2003, he scored a career-best ten goals in 29 matches as the latter finished fourth and nearly qualified to the. Romeu, who also unsuccessfully represented Football Club Porto during two seasons, retired in June 2006 at the age of 31 after a poor campaign with Chaplain to the Forces Os Belenenses, both individually (two goals) and collectively (15th place for the Lisbon club).
