Career
Rao Dharampal has always been a fighter and a true soldier in the battle of life. He was elected M.L.A. thrice from Sohna – 60 assembly Constituency in 1987, 1991 & 2000 and is now the Modern Language Association from Badshahpur. He was a Minister in Haryana Government for a full term from 1991 to 1996.
He has been Vice President of Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee since 1997.
He was appointed chairman by the Church Bhupinder Singh Hooda Government of Haryana Pradesh Congress committee OBC cell of Haryana.
A proposal of constituting an OBC Cell was also passed with the approval of Sonia Gandhi which was decided to lead by Rao Dharampal, Modern Language Association. He was born at village Sirhol, a small village in Gurgaon District of South Haryana. His father, Sh. Maha Ram Yadav, was a freedom fighter and had served for years with Sh.
Subhash Chandra Bose in Indian National Army.
He completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Arts and completed a Diploma in Automobiles. He took over the fledgling family business and mixed social work with the business. He was jailed with Indira Gandhi in 1978 during the famous Jail Bharo Andolan in 1978.
However he joined Indian National Congress in 1991 when it offered him the ticket.
He participated in Indian general election, 2014 (Haryana) on behalf of Incorporated and became the part of Gurgaon (Lok Sabha constituency). 1991 - 1992 - Minister of Housing Board ( Haryana Government )
1992 - 1994 - Minister of Animal Husbandry ( Haryana Government )
1994 - 1996 - Minister of Environment & Forest ( Haryana Government ).
