Career
After training in the wholesale and export business, he undertook military service in the Bundeswehr. Then, he studied economics at the University of Osnabrück. Since 1999 he has been managing director of Lebenshilfe Nordhorn GmbH. At present he is chairman of the Christian Democratic Union district of Grafschaft Bentheim.
Since March 2003 he has represented the Lower Saxony in the state parliament.
Reinhold Hilbers elected with 72.2% of the votes to represent his constituency in parliament. In the state election in 2008 he obtained 55.6% of the votes.
