Career
A Southern Districts Spartans junior, Martin played two college basketball seasons for Nova Southeastern University in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II between 2005 and 2007. His coach at NSU, Gary Tuell, considered him one of the best point guards the school ever had come through the program He went on to play five years in the Queensland Basketball League for the Caloundra Suns (2007), Rockhampton Rockets (2008–2009) and Mackay Meteors (2010–2011), winning a championship with Mackay in 2011.
Martin"s first season in the NBL was spent as a development player for the Brisbane Bullets in 2007-2008, and he averaged 1.1 points in 16 games.
Foreign the 2008-2009 season, he moved to the Wollongong Hawks where became an important play maker for them over the years. Martin missed the first half of the 2010-2011 season due to ankle surgery and again missed a large proportion of the 2012-2013 season after rupturing his Anterior Cruciate Ligament on 11 January 2013 against the Cairns Taipans.
After starting the 2014-2015 season without a team, Martin returned to the Hawks on 30 October 2014, re-signing with the club for the remainder of the season. Following the conclusion of the NBL season, he returned to the QBL for the first time since 2011, re-joining the Mackay Meteors for a five-game stint during May 2015.
With the Hawks" name change from Wollongong to Illawarra, Martin re-signed with the club on 25 June 2015 for the 2015-2016 season.
He missed the first 12 games of the season due to a knee injury, scoring eight points in his return game on 3 December against Melbourne United. On 21 January 2016, he played his 200th NBL game in a loss to the Perth Wildcats. Martin is married to wife Danielle.
