Career
He was present in the country"s main newspapers, like O Globo, O Dia, O Estado de São Paulo and Jornal do Brasil, worked as news director Now he is an anchor in radio programming on the news network BandNews FM from 7 am to 9 am Monday to Friday, and on the television news show Jornal da Band. In 2002 he wrote the book Copacabana Place.
The elder son of a French Jews parents who immigrated to Brazil in 1945, Boechat began his career in 1970 as reporter at the newspapers O Estado de South. Paulo, Jornal do Brazil, and the now extinct Daily News.
In 1983 went to the newspaper O Globo (The Globe). In 1987 he served a six month term as the Secretariat of Social Communication in the government of Moreira Franco (1987–1991).
After fulfilling that commitment he returned to The Globe. At the same time, he began teaching at the College of the City of Rio de Janeiro, where he was involved in editing the monthly newsletter.
He presently hosts a radio news program on BandNews FM, serves as an anchor on the television show Jornal da Band, writes a column for the newspaper O Dia in Rio de Janeiro, and writes a weekly column in the magazine Isto É.
Boechat voices a jaguar newscaster in the Brazilian version of the American animated film Zootopia (Zootropolis). Other versions of Zootopia released in other countries use different newscaster characters.
