Career
Educated at Solihull School, Harding joined the Royal Air Force in 1960. He became Officer Commanding the Pilot Buccaneer Squadrons in 1977. He joined the Directing Staff at the Royal Air Force Staff College, Bracknell in 1981, became Station Commander at Royal Air Force Honington in 1982 and was appointed Director of Nuclear Systems at the Ministry of Defence in 1986.
He served as Defence Services Secretary as well as Assistant Chief of the Defence Staff (Personnel) from 1994 to 1998.
In retirement he became Deputy Chairman of the Governors of Taunton School. He died on 27 December 2013.
