Phillip Hamilton is the author of the books, The Making and Unmaking of a Revolutionary Family and Serving the Old Dominion, a history of Christopher Newport University a state university in Virginia.
Education
Hamilton graduated from Gettysburg College, then attended graduate school in history at Washington University in Saint Louis, where he earned a Doctor of Philosophy He then moved to Saint Peters, Missouri with his wife, Christina where he got a job there at Lindenwood University They lived in Saint Peters, Missouri and had two children, Thomas, born in 1993 and Jacob, born in 1997.
Career
They then moved to Newport News, Virginia where he was hired as an associate history professor at Christopher Newport University. After seven years of writing, editing, and submitting, his book was finally published, The Making and Unmaking of a Revolutionary Family. Afterwards, Paul South. Trible Junior., the president of Christopher Newport University asked him to begin writing Serving the Old Dominion, a history of Christopher Newport University, which was recently completed.
