He was the Hungarian Delegation Leader in Cancun on UNFCCC COP-16, and a head of the Hungarian Climate Team under the Hungarian European Union Presidency in 2011. In the Europen Parliament Olajos was a substitute for the Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection, a member of the Delegation to the European Union-Kazakhstan, European Union-Kyrgyzstan and European Union-Uzbekistan Parliamentary Cooperation Committees, and for relations with Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Mongolia and a substitute for the Delegation to the European Union-Romania Joint Parliamentary Committee. 1999-2004: Member of Presidency of the board of trustees of Hungarian public broadcaster
2004-2009: Member of European Parliament (EPP-Education Group).
