Milton Michel began his career as a technician for a diagnostic X-ray laboratory in New York City in 1940-1944. From 1944 on he was a self-employed writer, mostly in the mystery genre. His first book was X-Ray Murders, followed by Sweet Murder, The Psychiatric Murders, The Black Key, Dear Dead Harry, Sing a Son to Homicide, and Journey into Limbo. He also wrote four plays, including Angels Kiss Me, Rise by Sin, and Sixth Finger in a Five-Finger Glove, all produced on Broadway, and The Murder of Me. He wrote the script for the Warner Brothers documentary A Country Reborn, edited and wrote for the Atlantic Beach Villager, and was a columnist for Spotlite.
Milton Michel was a member of the Authors League of America and the Dramatist Guild.
