Career
Samardžić started playing football in Jesenice, age 9. He started his professional career with NK Triglav Kranj at age 18. At the age of 19, he was considered one of the most talented defenders in Slovenia.
As a consequence, numerous clubs showed interest in signing him, and in early 2007 he signed for NK Maribor.
Following three seasons with Maribor, in 2010 he was signed by Football Club Sheriff Tiraspol in Moldova. Samardžić spent four seasons with Sheriff before signing for HNK Rijeka in July 2014.
He made a début for the senior national team on 19 November 2013 against Canada and, as of 23 March 2016, he collected 8 caps for Slovenia.
