Davies was educated at the Royal Russell School and studied politics at Swansea University and was the first in her family to receive higher education.

She worked primarily as a local radio presenter, reporter and producer. She has also more recently worked as a road safety communications officer with the Automobile Association and the police force. Davies served a councillor on Mid Sussex District Council for the Haywards Heath Lucastes ward from 2011 to 2015.
At the 2015 general election on 7 May, Davies was elected as Member of Parliament for the Eastleigh constituency, defeating Liberal Democrat incumbent Mike Thornton by over 9,000 votes.
She has been quoted as saying:
I want an European Union referendum. Britain and NOT Brussels, should control immigration, justice and human rights.
We need to. negotiate a cut to European Union immigration and make welfare reform an absolute requirement in renegotiation. But if we do not get the reforms we need and it"s for the best for Britain.
I would vote to go.
Davies holds a eurosceptic viewpoint within the Conservative Party.
