Mitchell "Mitch" Pacwa, Society of Jesus (Jesuit) is an American Jesuit priest.
Education
After graduating from Saint Priscilla Grammar School in Chicago, where he was taught by the Rochester Franciscans, Pacwa completed high school at Archbishop Quigley Preparatory Seminary in 1967. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Old Testament from as well as a Doctor of Philosophy in philosophy. He also holds a Master of Divinity and Bachelor of Sacred Theology (STB) from the Jesuit School of Theology at Loyola University.
He is an accomplished linguist, speaking several ancient languages including Latin, Koine Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Ugaritic, as well as the modern languages of English, German, Spanish, Polish, Hebrew, Arabic, French, and Italian.
He is of Polish descent.
Career
He is fluent in twelve languages. He is bi-ritual, meaning that he can celebrate liturgy in both the Roman and Maronite rites. He has taught at the University of Dallas and Loyola University Chicago and is now the senior fellow of the Saint Paul Center for Biblical Theology.
Pacwa is the host of many television shows.
He gave the 2008 commencement address at the Augustine Institute in Denver, Colorado. EWTN Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) is a Catholic television network on which Pacwa appears frequently.
