Career
Previously Ben-Ze'ev worked as a judge in the Haifa District court, and had been closed to the ruling Mapai party in the 1950s. He replaced Gideon Hausner as Attorney General in early 1963, after Hausner had resigned to enter politics. After leaving the Attorney General post, Ben-Ze'ev started a private law firm with Aryeh Kamar, and in 1980, headed a commission to investigate abuse of civil servants who had exposed corruption.
