In 1934, Mace received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. In 1936, he received a LL.B. from St. Paul College of Law. In 1938, Mace received M.B.A. from Harvard University, and D.C.S. in 1948.
Myles Mace began his career as a research assistant at Harvard University. He held that position from 1938 to 1939. Then, from 1939 to 1941, he was an instructor at Harvard Business School, in Boston, and an assistant professor from 1941 to 1946. From 1946 to 1951, he also was an associate professor there, professor of business from 1951 to 1972, professor emeritus from 1972 to 2000, and associate dean for external affairs from 1962 to 1963.
From 1947 to 1952, Mace was a member of the business advisory committee at the U.S. Department of Commerce, and then he became a chairperson, where was from 1950 to 1952. From 1955 to 1970 at Litton Industries he was a member of the board of directors, and then became a vice president of the board, the position he held from 1955 to 1958. Beginning in 1973, Mace was a principal at Management Analysis Center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Mace was also a past member of the board of directors at Interchemical Corp., Josten’s, Inc., Hanes Corp., Squibb Beech-Nut, New York Inmont Corp., Harte-Hanks Newspapers, and Camp, Dresser & McKee.
Mace was a member of Massachusetts Bar Association, Minnesota Bar Association, Alpha Tau Omega, Harvard Club, University Club, Ekwanok Country Club and Country Club.
On September 9, 1937, Mace married Adelaide Hildegarde Rowley. They had two children: Myles La Grange and Terrence Rowley.
