Karle Hammond"s position of choice was as a stand-off/five-eighth, or loose forward/lock. He played for Widnes, Street Helens, London Broncos, Salford City Reds and Halifax in the European Super League. He is a former Wales and Great Britain international.
Hammond played for Street Helens at stand-off half in their 1996 Challenge Cup Final victory over Bradford Bulls.
He was the top try-scorer of the 1996 Great Britain Lions tour. Karle Hammond played stand-off/five-eighth in Saint Helens" 16-25 defeat by Wigan in the 1995-1996 Regal Trophy final during the 1995-1996 at Alfred McAlpine Stadium, Huddersfield on Saturday 13 January 1996.
