Career
He played for the Milwaukee Braves (1960-1961), New York Mets (1962-1963), Saint Louis Cardinals (1963), San Francisco Giants (1964), and Houston Astros (1965). While at Yale, MacKenzie lettered in hockey and baseball. MacKenzie was an original Met, and led the staff with a winning record, 5–4, on a team that lost 120 games in 1962.
Manager Casey Stengel was quoted that MacKenzie was a great kid.
