(The author shows on the basis of modern Western research,...)
The author shows on the basis of modern Western research, that the Christian church doctrines relating to the birth, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus, as well as other details of these events as believed in by the church, and various rites and rituals of the church, are derived from the pagan cults of sun-worship which were prevalent in the world at that time.

(This book was originally published prior to 1923, and rep...)
This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.

But to ensure effectiveness the idea must be sound in itself and be able to with stand the severest investigation otherwise a specious and basically unsound theory may be able to gain credence and support. In the case of I slam we observe truth, sin cerity, toleration and simplicity. General Charles Gordon doubtless had this in mind when he said that he did not see the sect of Pharisees amongst theM ussulmans, who never assume, as the Christian Pharisees do, that A and Bare doomed to be burned. This saintly man knew theE ast well, and had mixed with Muslims all his life ;he further said of theM uslims :Y ou never see the very unamiable features which are shown by our Pharisees. Believe or be damned is the slogan of certain Church parties, but not of Christ steach (Typographical errors above are due to OCR software and don't occur in the book.)
