Burright graduated from Mark Keppel High School in 1956.
He played from 1962 to 1964 with the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Mets. He signed with the Dodgers the following year and played a few seasons in their minor league organization. In 1961, he hit.255 and was called up to the major league club in 1962.
Burright played second base for the Dodgers, with Jim Gilliam.
He hit.205 in 1962 and is probably best remembered for two poor fielding plays he made in that year"s playoff against the San Francisco Giants. Burright was traded to the Mets in the offseason.
He did not play much in 1963 and was sent to the minor league Buffalo Bisons early in the 1964 season, batting.224 for Buffalo. Burright retired from baseball in 1965.
